I can't help but feel a rush of optimism, excitement and curiosity in the Spring - it is such a wonderful time of year. Yesterday this excitement reached new levels as I hosted my first Mother's Day Floral Workshop.
A great group of women came together to create some floral magic with their mamas and daughters. I was lucky enough to have my own Mom, and Mother-in-law with me to join in on the fun!
Our guests were warmly welcomed by an abundance of fresh flowers, yummy treats from The Bake Shop on Main, and an assortment of teas and coffees made lovingly by our handsome barista (my husband!)

We began the class by learning the names of the flowers I carefully curated. Common favourites were of course the Peonies and Ranunculus!
Next was the first step in creating beautiful arrangements...adding lots of beautiful foliage! You could hear a pin drop at this time - everyone was so focused!
Our contest winner Michelle and her lovely Mom, Etelvina! So nice to meet you!
Time for flowers! It always amazes me how given the same materials and instruction, everyone's creations can look so different!
Lily! Our youngest lady for the day. She is incredibly talented! Perhaps a future floral designer in the making :)
